Supporting Your Wellbeing

Wellbeing encompasses the state of being healthy, happy, and prosperous, both physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually and includes a sense of life satisfaction and meaning.Wellbeing can be understood through two dimensions:

  1. subjective wellbeing (how a person feels about their life) and

  2. objective wellbeing (factors like physical and mental health, social connections, and environmental factors).

Key Aspects of Wellbeing:

  • Subjective Wellbeing: This refers to how a person feels about their life and their overall evaluation of it.

  • Positive Emotions: Experiencing joy, happiness, and other positive feelings.

  • Meaning and Purpose: Feeling that one's life is purposeful and worthwhile.

  • Life Satisfaction: Feeling content and happy with one's life overall.

  • Physical and Mental Health: Being healthy physically and mentally is a key component of wellbeing.

  • Social Connections: Strong social relationships and a sense of belonging are also important.

  • Environmental Factors: The physical environment and community in which one lives can also influence wellbeing.
