ABOUT SQA3 Level 6 Beauty Therapy Course
Perfect to build on the level 2 and ideal for those looking to work in a salon or spa. Level 3 includes Body Massage, Activity Unit & Electrical Body and Facial Treatment Services, there are a few optional choices that can be made to customise this qualification such as Aromatherapy Massage, Indian Head Massage, Hot Stones Massage, Spray Tanning (choose three options from the full list of optional units below) .
Sleeping Beauty Academy is fully accredited to offer this on a part-time or fast-track full-time basis. Small class sizes and an emphasis on practical skills building will ensure you leave fully confident in the skills you have learnt. Option to run as a fast-track full-time program or on 1 day a week or as an evening class.
Course suitable for:
Skill level: Advanced (Progression Award)
Person requirements: Obtained the SQA2 Level 5 Beauty Therapy
Suitable for: Individuals looking to progress and advance in their Beauty Therapy Career.

Course structure: The SQA 3 Level 6 comprises of:
Four mandatory units
Three optional units
Mandatory Units: All four mandatory units
Contribute to the Planning, Implementation and Evaluation of Promotional Activities
Provide Body Massage Treatments
Provide Facial Electrical Treatments
Provide Body Electrical Treatments
Optional Units: Three optional units to be chosen by you from the following options:
Contribute to the Financial Effectiveness of the Business
Design and Create Fashion and Photographic Make-up
Provide Specialist Skin Camouflage Services
Plan and Provide Airbrush Make-up
Carry out Massage Using Pre-blended Aromatherapy Oils
Provide Indian Head Massage
Provide Stone Therapy Treatments
Provide Female Intimate Waxing
Provide Self-tanning Services
Provide Electrical Epilation
Provide Cosmetic Skin Peel Treatments
Learning Skills & Objectives: Delivery Method in-person
History of treatment services, benefits of treatment, consultation, contra-indications, contra-actions to treatment, equipment list, relevant health and safety and hygiene practices and waste disposal, related anatomy, and physiology, treatment procedure, troubleshooting, aftercare.
Maintain safe and effective methods of working when providing different treatment services
Consult, plan and prepare for different treatment services.
Carry out treatment services.
You will need to maintain effective health, safety, and hygiene throughout. You will also need to maintain your personal appearance and demonstrate effective communication and consultation skills.
Assessment:
The assessment process combines written theory tests, practical observations and verbal questioning to demonstrate knowledge and understanding and a practical ability when providing the different treatment services.
Case Study Requirements: Case studies are required when undertaking each unit module.
Course Duration CPD: 12-18 months, however, an option to run as a fast-track full-time program or on 1 day a week or as an evening class is available upon request.
Venue: Sleeping Beauty Academy Head, 42-44 Academy Street, Inverness, IV1 1JT
Class size: Our class sizes are kept small, just 4-6 learners, to ensure a positive learning experience.
Start-up Kits: Start-up kits are available to purchase depending on the treatment service at an additional cost, please view itemised list of what is included.
If you require a kit please make this known in advance and prior to training to allow for delivery, can be sent out or picked up on the first day of training.
Requirements during each training block:
On the training days, we will cover the theory elements of the course, and you will be provided with a training manual, worksheet booklet and case study forms. You may wish to take your own notebook/stationery, refreshments, you will have access to our kitchen/bathroom facilities.
Uniform: Please take your salon uniform with you to wear during all practical activities, alternatively black trousers/leggings & a black short sleeve top.
Training Models: Models will be provided so no need to take your own and a fully qualified assessor will observe you throughout and feedback will be provided.
Course Completion:
To receive your Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) Accredited Qualification you would need to meet each unit learning outcomes, range and performance criteria that meet the SQA Accredited Standards. On completion, you will receive an SQA Accreditation Certificate.
SQA Accredited - This qualification is internationally recognised with both employers and insurance companies, meaning on completion of the course you will be able to work professionally straight away.

Accommodation: Best to book in advance to secure accommodation, particularly at peak times, as we reside in the heart of the city centre there are a good choice of places to stay to suit all budgets with easy access to different modes of travel nearby.
Car Parking Facilities: The nearest parking is at the Rose Street Multi-Story or Eastgate Shopping Centre, both are approximately £5 per day.
