Job Purpose

The Salon Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth, efficient, and profitable running of the salon. This includes leading the team, maintaining high service standards, and driving business growth through effective marketing and client care. The role requires leading by example with professionalism, ensuring all areas of the salon meet company standards, and fostering a positive and motivated team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion and communicate the Sleeping Beauty culture of service to both clients and staff.

  • Lead, support, and motivate the salon team, including reception, to achieve high standards of performance.

  • Oversee daily salon operations, including opening checks, room audits, and scheduling adjustments as needed.

  • Ensure the reception area runs smoothly, including bookings, billing, cash handling, and daily banking.

  • Maintain accurate client records, ensuring GDPR compliance and treatment notes are kept up to date.

  • Prepare and lead daily team huddles; ensure the notice board is current and read by all staff.

  • Manage staffing levels, recruitment needs, and performance reviews to ensure smooth operations year-round.

  • Uphold salon cleanliness, health & safety standards, and risk assessments in line with legal requirements.

  • Oversee retail sales, set team targets, and track performance to drive salon turnover.

  • Liaise with suppliers to manage stock levels, review product ranges, and identify promotional opportunities.

  • Provide induction training for new staff and ongoing training/coaching for the team.

  • Act as the first point of contact for complaints or concerns, escalating to directors when appropriate.

Delegation & Communication

  • Clearly communicate company policies, procedures, and plans to all staff.

  • Motivate the team to achieve individual and collective financial targets.

  • Delegate tasks to therapists and support staff effectively.

  • Carry out one-to-one reviews and appraisals to provide feedback and encourage professional growth.

  • Ensure all team members are informed of health & safety, fire, and first aid procedures.

  • Represent the salon at meetings as required.

Financial Accountability

  • Ensure the salon meets monthly financial targets.

  • Review performance trends and identify areas for improvement.

  • Manage budgets, stock control, and petty cash responsibly.
